02Interlocking & Paving
Interlocking done as civil work, not as a finish.
Introduction
Interlocking is one of Dulsom's core specialisms. A paver surface is only as good as what sits beneath it, so the work is treated as civil construction: excavation, compaction, PCC or granular base, edge restraint, bedding sand and then blocks.
The result is a surface that stays level under load, drains correctly and can be lifted and relaid in sections when services below need access.

03Execution approach
How Dulsom runs it.
Base sets the life
Compaction is tested in layers and the base is built to the loading the surface will actually take — pedestrian, car or loaded truck.
Restraint on every edge
Kerbs and edge restraints are installed before the field is laid. Without them, blocks migrate and joints open.
Level and pattern control
String lines, laying pattern and joint sand are controlled as the work progresses, with levels checked against chambers and existing surfaces.
